If you don't have the design skills and don't need a custom built site that uniquely identifies your online business, you could use free templates. For example WordPress dot com or Blogger dot com enable you to start a blog using free templates.

If you have html skills or want to learn them consider free html editors such as Kompozer dot net or Coffee Cup dot com.
Hire a Professional Web Designer
If you're doing business on the Net you need a website that not only looks professional but loads fast, has a clear navigation system and is optimized for the search engines. Yes i use wordpress. What you mean with standard sites? This design isn’t designed by my self i find it in some site and i just upgrade some design elements how i like. But if you want creative and good looking theme just keep looking in sites what are not so popular. I know there are some interesting and good looking designs. Because if you take theme from popular wp theme sites than it was biggest chance that anyone else was design like yours. If any more questions be open and ask.

Hello. This is kind of an “unconventional” question , but have other visitors asked you how get the menu bar to look like you’ve got it? I also have a blog and am really looking to alter around the theme, however am scared to death to mess with it for fear of the search engines punishing me. I am very new to all of this …so i am just not positive exactly how to try to to it all yet. I’ll just keep working on it one day at a time Thanks for any help you can offer here
No you are first. This menu bar i think is simple and it was for my theme when i download it. I didn’t made it by my self. But you can try do it editing your css style file. With this kind of menu they can’t punishing you because menu is text menu and its just trick with css when is color rollover to another, so don’t worry about that. But look some post previous where i write post about jquery menu. Its looks very nice and you will be surprised what amazing design elements you can create using jquery.
